Backpacking the Appalachian Trail 2008

| In May, 2008, we had an awesome backpack trip on the Appalachian Trail in Virginia and Tennessee. Alan and I had six days of hiking. Later I'll post some more pictures of the specular scenery. This slide show covers the first two days of our hike. In addition to Alan and I, my oldest son Glen, his friend Carol, and Carol's friend Susan hiked with us for the first two days. After they left Alan and I continued our hike for another four days. It was a great challenge and an exhilarating experience. I want to do more of the trail later.
